Officials from the City of Folsom have announced it will honor the State Champion Folsom Bulldogs football team with a community parade at the end of the month.

The parade is set for Tuesday, January 30 in Historic Folsom. The complete details of the parade are being finalized; however, the route will include Sutter Street and is set to begin at 7 p.m.

“We want to honor our championship team in the best fashion possible and organizing a community parade is appropriate,” said Folsom Mayor Steve Miklos. “The city takes great pride in our youth athletes and a state championship title is something this city and community are very proud of.”

The Folsom Bulldogs completed an outstanding season in Sac-Joaquin section competition. They finished their season 16-0 and claimed the CIF Division I-AA state championship title in December, their third state title since 2010.

In addition to the parade, Folsom City Council will recognize Folsom High School Coach Kris Richardson and the 2017 team at their January 23 meeting.  Watch for further details in the Folsom Telegraph prior to the event.
